Apoloniusz Tajner

Member of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland, President of the Polish Ski Association 2006-2022

Former ski coach, sports activist, and politician. A graduate of the Technical School of Mechanics in Ustroń and the Academy of Physical Education in Kraków (1980), where he obtained a diploma in ski coaching. Between 1984 and 1990, he coached the Polish national team in Nordic combined, and from 1999 to 2004, he was the coach of the Polish ski jumping team. Under his leadership, Adam Małysz won three World Cup titles, three World Championship titles, the Four Hills Tournament, and two Olympic medals (Salt Lake City 2002). From 2006 to 2022, he served as the President of the Polish Ski Association, and from 2017 to 2023, he was the Vice-President of the Polish Olympic Committee. Since 2023, he has been a Member of the Sejm in the 10th term representing the Civic Coalition. He was awarded the Officer’s Cross (2002) and the Commander’s Cross (2022) of the Order of Polonia Restituta for his contributions to Polish sport.
