Kamil Novak was appointed Secretary General of FIBA Europe in October 2012, and on January 1, 2015, he assumed the role of Executive Director of FIBA Europe.

A former national team player for Czechoslovakia (1987–1993) and the Czech Republic (1993–2001), he had a professional basketball career in Portugal, Germany, Austria, and Luxembourg, including participation in EuroBasket 1999.

From 2002 to 2012, he served as the Sports Director of the German-based club SKYLINERS GmbH / FRAPORT SKYLINERS Frankfurt.
